Survey carried out by various agencies in Indian Engg./ Diploma colleges reveals that only 5% of the freshers are employable and 15% are trainable, the remaining 80% are either under employed or unemployed.

The major short comings identified are, poor communication skills (specially in English), lack of leadership qualities, poor team work, poor application of professional knowledge etc.
